House of Bolon x Existo

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we slow down — just a little. Autumn is our cue to breathe, connect, and find beauty in the quieter moments. At House of Bolon, we believe good energy starts from the ground up, so we gathered a few kindred spirits to do just that.

Together with Existo Yoga Studio and Engla Lööf with friends, we spent a soft November morning surrounded by woven textures, calm light, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee. Tarot Gäri guided us through readings that opened new perspectives — on energy, intention, and how the spaces we inhabit can shape the way we feel.

In the heart of Existo, where design meets stillness, we found a reminder of balance — that even the boldest interiors can hold peace, and that connection often begins in the simple act of slowing down.

We asked Maria, founder of Existo Yoga Studio, about her vision for the space and how design can support both movement and stillness. Here, she reflects on creating calm in the middle of the city.

What was your vision when designing Existo, how did you want people to feel when they walked in?

Our vision was to create a space for different forms of yoga and movement. We want people to feel a sense of calm and to feel at home when they walk in. The first room is what we call the living room.

Where do you start when designing a space for movement and stillness at the same time?
At first it felt like a challenge, since the studio is located at street level, with all the movement and sounds from the street and the life outside. The space already had a beautiful energy, so we built upon that using colours and materials that further enhance a calming effect on the mind. Today we feel that the constantly shifting light, the soft background sounds, and the energy of the city outside exist in a beautiful harmony with the stillness and tranquility we have created inside.

What made you choose House of Bolon flooring, and how does it contribute to the feeling of the space?
The Bolon flooring is placed in Studio 2, where Ebba, among others, holds her tarot readings. It fits perfectly with the checkered floor and the tarot cards, and Bolon feels like a modern and elegant element within our interior.

What aspirations do you have about Existo in the future?
To remain present in the moment, both now and in the future.

For Tarot Gäri, energy is something that moves through both people and spaces. Here she reflects on intuition, atmosphere and how environments can hold emotion.

Do you believe spaces can hold memories or emotions — and how do you transform that energy?
Yes, emotions are energy in motion, and they can absolutely linger in spaces, walls, and even furniture. You can often feel it when you walk into a room — does it feel heavy, light, loving, or calm? Strong emotions tend to imprint themselves in the environment. To clear stagnant or heavy energy, I use natural tools like salt or sage smoke. You can smudge the room with a sage stick or spray it with salt water. While doing so, visualize the space being filled with light, clarity, and positive energy. It’s a beautiful way to reset the atmosphere and invite new harmony.

How are you usually seated during a session? Do you sit on the floor or on a couch? Do you like our flooring in your room?
I usually sit at a small table with lit candles. I absolutely love your flooring. It makes the whole room feel softer, warmer, and more inviting, and it really adds to the calm and welcoming energy of the space.

How important is interior design in your practice — is it aesthetic, energetic, or both?
It is definitely both. Aesthetics can create a visual calm, while the energy of colors, shapes, and symmetry supports balance and flow. Interior design can help channel energy — what is harmonious to the eye often feels harmonious to the spirit.

Can interior design be a form of healing?
Absolutely. A space can either drain or uplift us. When a room feels aligned with who you are — through colors, textures, light, and intention — it can become a place of restoration. Surrounding yourself with beauty and balance can support emotional and even spiritual healing.

What’s one piece in your home that holds special energy or significance to you?
I have an old crystal scrying ball that my father gave me when I was a child. It carries love, memory, and a sense of generational connection.

For Engla Lööf, small rituals and everyday moments shape the energy we carry into the day. Here she shares her reflections on curiosity, intuition and the feeling of the morning we spent together.

What’s the first thing you do in the morning — before the world wakes up?

I start with a shower and my skincare routine, then I put on some music and dance a little. After that, I have coffee and breakfast.

Is there something small you do each morning that sets the tone for the whole day?
If I dance in the morning, it really sets the tone for my day. I try to do it every day, but you know — some mornings are more stressful than others.

How are you feeling about having your cards read today? What do you feel when someone reads your cards — curiosity, trust, or something else?
I love tarot readings. They always make me a little nervous because I truly believe in them — you want them to be accurate about what you’re feeling — but mostly I’m just excited and curious.

What kind of energy do you want to bring into the rest of your day after this morning?
This morning gave me so much energy. I want to carry this warm, safe, and happy feeling with me throughout the rest of the day.

You’ve spent your morning surrounded by House of Bolon’s flooring — what impression does it leave?
That I need one myself. I’m obsessed with House of Bolon’s flooring — it looks so chic and elegant, yet also very practical. I love it.

Thank you to everyone who shared this morning with us.
